1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes the data practices of InsureGeeks.com (“we,” “us,” or “our”) regarding information within its scope, including the choices available to you. Unless otherwise stated, “information” or “personal information” means information that identifies, relates to, or is reasonably capable of being associated with an individual or household.

This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect through our websites, webforms, emails, phone calls, or other online services that link to this Privacy Policy (the “Service”), as well as from the other sources described below. Your use of the Service is subject to our Terms of Service.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to:

• The practices of third parties we do not control, including advertisers and other companies you may interact with through the Service.
• Information collected in the context of job applications or employment with us.
• Information that has been anonymized or, to the extent permitted by law, de-identified.

This Privacy Policy is only applicable to websites and webforms that link to it. Any linked website not maintained by us is governed by its own privacy policy, and any information you share with such third parties is subject to their practices, not ours.

We encourage you to read this Privacy Policy in full. 2. Our Business

We connect consumers looking for insurance with insurance companies, agents, brokers, and other businesses that offer insurance products through an online marketplace (our “business customers” or “advertisers”). We are not an insurance company, insurance broker, or insurance agent, and we do not sell products or services on behalf of our business customers. We earn revenue through referral fees and commissions from business customers when a consumer purchases a policy or completes a quote through their platform.

We do not collect insurance application information, financial account information, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive personal details through the Service. Please do not submit this information to us.

3. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Identifiers and contact information, such as your name, phone number, email address, mailing address, and IP address.
• Characteristics or demographics, including zip code and country of residence.
• Vehicle, home, or other product-specific information you provide to request a quote (e.g., vehicle details for auto insurance quotes).
• Device information, including your device's operating system, browser type and version, internet service provider, and regional and language settings.
• Internet or network activity, including your browsing history and interactions with the Service, such as pages visited, content viewed, time of day, referring and exiting pages, and which advertisers' sites you visit.
• Non-precise location data, such as location inferred from an IP address or generalized to a city or postal code level.
• Content of your communications with us, including information provided during phone calls, emails, or other correspondence.
• Business contact identifiers, including the name, job title, business email address, and phone number of employees or representatives of actual and prospective business customers.
• Inferences, preferences, or other insights we derive from the categories above.

3.1 Sources of Information

We collect information from the following sources:

• Directly from you through the Service. When you visit or use a form on the Service, you may provide information so that we can match you with a business customer that serves your area and the product you're seeking.
• Directly from you by phone. When you call us, or we call you, you may provide information so we can connect you with a business customer. We also collect call metadata (such as duration) and the content of the call.
• Automatically from your device. When you interact with the Service, we and third parties we work with automatically collect device identifiers, device information, and internet activity using cookies and other tracking technologies (see Section 4).
• From business relationships. When working with actual or prospective business customers, we collect business contact identifiers of their personnel.
• From third parties, including: business customers or advertisers (for example, whether they provided you a rate or whether you made a purchase); analytics, advertising, security, and fraud-prevention vendors; and social media platforms when you interact with our content or ads.
• Information we generate. We may generate inferences or other information based on the categories collected above.

4. Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

We and third parties we work with (including advertisers, service providers, and analytics providers) use tracking technologies to automatically collect information from your browser or device when you use the Service. These technologies include:

• Cookies — browser-based text files placed on your device when you visit a website, open or click an email, or interact with an advertisement. Cookies may be session-based (expiring when you close your browser) or persistent (remaining until a set expiration or manual deletion), and may be first-party (served by us) or third-party (served by others).
• Pixels or web beacons — code embedded in a page or email, often used with cookies, that can allow us or a third party to collect browser or device information.
• Other unique identifiers used to recognize your device or browser across visits.

We use these technologies to operate the Service, personalize your experience, measure and improve performance, prevent fraud, increase security, and deliver and measure advertising, including targeted advertising. See Section 10 for how to manage or opt out of these technologies.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Connect you with a business customer capable of providing the product or quote you requested.
• Provide lead-generation and matching services to our business customers.
• Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
• Communicate with you — including by phone call, email, text message, and mail — to complete your quote request, respond to questions, and provide information about our services or those of our advertisers. By submitting your contact information, you agree to receive these communications, including through automated systems or prerecorded messages.
• Understand usage and trends, including through analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
• Deliver, measure, and optimize advertising, including targeted advertising based on your activity over time and across services (see below).
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service or applicable law.
• Comply with applicable law and enforce our agreements.
• Carry out any other purpose you direct or to which you consent.

5.1 Targeted Advertising

Some of our advertising is “targeted advertising” — showing more relevant or personalized ads based on your activity over time and across non-affiliated services. This often involves incorporating third-party tracking technologies into the Service or disclosing (often hashed) identifiers to third parties, who match our data with their own to deliver ads to you or similar audiences. For example, we incorporate advertising pixels on our website to serve ads to matched audiences on ad platforms. We may also use audience-modeling services, where we and a partner each disclose hashed identifiers to a technology provider that matches common factors to help us understand audience overlap and campaign performance.

5.2 De-identified Information

We may aggregate, anonymize, or de-identify information so that it is no longer considered personal information under applicable law. Where we do so, we commit to maintaining and using it only in de-identified form and will not attempt to re-identify it, except as required to determine whether our de-identification process satisfies legal requirements. We may use de-identified or aggregate information for any purpose permitted by law.

6. How and With Whom We Share Information

We disclose information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy to the following categories of recipients:

6.1 Business Customers / Advertisers

At your direction — that is, by submitting a request through the Service — we share your information with the business customer(s) matched to your request so they can provide the quotes or products you asked for. The type of information shared depends on the product requested (for example, vehicle information for auto insurance quotes, or home information for home insurance quotes); contact information is typically shared for most requests.

Submitting a request constitutes your agreement to be contacted by matched advertisers by phone (including live, automated, or prerecorded calls), text message, email, or mail, even if you are listed on the National Do Not Call Registry or a similar opt-out list. If you no longer wish to be contacted by a specific advertiser, you must contact that advertiser directly — see their own privacy policy for instructions.

Information we share with a business customer, and information you provide directly to them, is governed by that business customer's own privacy policy. An advertiser may retain information we shared with them regardless of whether you ultimately purchase from them. We contractually require business customers to reasonably secure any personal information they receive from us.

6.2 Service Providers

We share information with vendors that perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing, data analytics, marketing and advertising, website hosting, and technical support. Where required by law, we contractually prohibit service providers from using information we share for any purpose other than performing services for us, though they may be permitted to use de-identified information for any lawful purpose.

6.3 Other Third-Party Vendors

Some third parties we work with independently determine the purposes and means of processing your information — for example, vendors that provide analytics, security, and fraud-prevention services, and ad networks or technology providers that support targeted advertising, ad measurement, and fraud detection.

6.4 Affiliates

We may share information with our corporate affiliates and related entities, including where they act as our service providers subject to this Privacy Policy, or where they use the information under their own privacy policies.

6.5 Legal, Safety, and Business Transfers

• To comply with a valid legal process, subpoena, court order, or governmental or law-enforcement request, or as otherwise required by law.
• To investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected fraud, security issues, or violations of our Terms of Service.
• To protect the rights, property, life, health, or safety of us, our business customers, our vendors, or others.
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, asset sale, liquidation, bankruptcy, or similar transaction involving all or part of our business, before and after the transaction closes.

6.6 At Your Direction

We disclose information where you direct us to do so, or where we provide notice to you and obtain your consent.

7. Third-Party Content, Links, and Integrations

The Service may contain links to, or be integrated with, websites and online services controlled by third parties, including our network of advertisers. Except where a third party acts as our service provider, that party — not us — determines the purposes and means of processing information you share with them. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party site, and we encourage you to review the privacy policy of every advertiser or third-party service you interact with.

8. Data Retention

We retain information:

• For as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Service.
• As necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce our agreements.
• In backup or disaster-recovery systems for a limited period, or as required by applicable law.
• Indefinitely once information has been aggregated or de-identified such that it no longer identifies you.

You may request deletion of your information at any time (see Section 10). We cannot guarantee a specific deletion timeline, and deletion may be delayed or limited where necessary to comply with a legal obligation or investigate a violation of our Terms of Service.

9. Data Security

We implement and maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security breach affecting your information, we may notify you electronically or through a notice on the Service, and, where required by law, in writing.

10. Your Privacy Choices and Controls

10.1 Marketing Communications

• Email: select “unsubscribe” in any marketing email, or email us at [email protected] with “UNSUBSCRIBE” in the subject line. You cannot opt out of transactional emails.
• Text messages: reply “STOP” to any text message we send you.
• Phone calls and mail: contact us using the details in Section 13 to update your preferences.

We control only our own marketing lists and communications. To stop receiving communications from a matched advertiser, you must contact that advertiser directly.

10.2 Browser and Device Controls

You can manage cookies through your browser settings, which will also affect associated pixels. Cookie controls apply on a per-browser, per-device basis — if you use multiple browsers or devices, you'll need to set your preferences on each. Blocking all cookies may prevent the Service from operating as expected and may prevent an opt-out cookie itself from being honored. Guidance for common browsers:

10.3 Third-Party and Industry Opt-Out Tools

We are not responsible for the effectiveness of third-party opt-out tools. Opting out of tracking-based advertising does not mean you will stop seeing ads — only that they may be less tailored to your interests.

10.4 Do Not Track

Some browsers can send “Do Not Track” signals. Because there is no common industry standard for interpreting these signals, we do not currently respond to them.

11. U.S. State-Specific Disclosures

This section applies to residents of California, Nevada, and any “Consensus State” — a U.S. state that has adopted a comprehensive consumer privacy law, currently including Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia. It does not apply to residents of other states except as expressly noted.

11.1 Notice at Collection

Sales, Shares, and Targeted Advertising. Some disclosures described in Section 6 — particularly to advertisers and ad-technology partners — may be considered a “sale” or “share” for cross-context behavioral advertising under applicable state law. The categories of personal information we sell, share, or process for targeted advertising include identifiers, characteristics or demographics, device information, internet activity, non-precise geolocation data, and inferences drawn from the foregoing. We do not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16 years old.

Sensitive Data. We collect, use, and disclose sensitive personal information only for purposes permitted under applicable law, and we do not sell or share sensitive personal information to third parties.

Profiling. We do not process personal information for profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning consumers.

11.2 Your Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know the categories of personal information we have collected, the categories of sources, the business or commercial purposes for collecting, selling, or sharing it, the categories of third parties to whom it was disclosed, and the specific pieces of personal information collected about you;
• Correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you; and
• Delete personal information we have collected from you.

If you are a resident of a Consensus State, you generally have the right to:

• Confirm whether we are processing your personal information;
• Access, correct, and delete your personal information; and
• Obtain a copy of personal information you previously provided to us, in a portable, readily usable format.
• Minnesota or Oregon residents may also request a list of the specific third parties to which we disclosed personal information.
• Delaware or Maryland residents may also request a list of categories of third parties to which we disclosed personal information.
• Connecticut residents may also request a list of specific third parties to which we sold personal information.

All residents covered by this section also have the right to:

• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, or its use for targeted advertising;
• Revoke previously given consent (note that withdrawing consent may limit our ability to provide certain services);
• Be free from discrimination for exercising these rights — we will not deny goods or services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service solely because you exercised a privacy right, though advertisers may require additional information before providing a quote, which may limit the number of advertisers matched to your request; and
• Appeal a decision we make in response to your request, and exercise your rights through an authorized agent.

11.3 Exercising Your Rights

To submit a verifiable request to know, access, correct, or delete your information, use our online request form at California Privacy Choices or email [email protected]. We will confirm receipt and respond consistent with applicable law, generally within the timeframe required by your state's law. We may need to verify your identity — for example, by confirming receipt of an email sent to an address in our records or asking for details about your history with us — and may deny a request if we cannot verify identity as permitted by law.

Opt-outs of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. Because information collected through website tracking technologies is not typically linked to other information in our systems, you may need to submit separate opt-outs: enable a recognized opt-out preference signal in your browser (such as Global Privacy Control) or adjust your cookie preferences through the Service for website-based tracking, and submit a request through California Privacy Choices for other information held in our systems.

Authorized agents must submit requests through the methods above and, except where prohibited by law, provide written proof of authorization. To appeal a decision, contact us using the details in Section 13 and specify what you are appealing; if we deny your appeal, residents of participating states may submit a complaint to their state Attorney General.

11.4 Additional California Disclosures

Shine the Light. California residents may request, no more than once per calendar year, a list of the categories of personal information we disclosed to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year, and the names and addresses of those third parties. Submit a “California Shine the Light Request” using the contact details in Section 13; we will respond within the timeframe required by law.

11.5 Nevada Residents

Nevada residents have the right to opt out of the sale of covered personal information to third parties under Nevada Revised Statutes 603A. To exercise this right, follow the opt-out process described in Section 11.3.

12. International Visitors

We are based in the United States, and this Privacy Policy is intended to cover information collected from U.S. residents. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or another country where we or our service providers operate; data protection laws in those locations may differ from those in your home country. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree to this transfer, subject to any additional safeguards required by applicable law. The Service is not designed for use by visitors located in the European Economic Area.

13. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for users age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from individuals under this age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us using the details below and we will take steps to remove it.

13.1 Household and Family Information

Some forms on the Service allow you to submit information about other members of your household, including children, in order to process a quote request (for example, adding a family member to an auto insurance quote). By submitting such information, you represent that you are the parent or legal guardian of any minor whose information you provide, or are otherwise authorized to submit other household members' information, and that it may be used by us and matched business customers as described in this Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective immediately upon posting, and the date at the top of the policy will reflect the latest revision. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice, such as by email or a prominent notice on the Service. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
